![]() ![]() Following his retirement from the United States Navy, Ronald returned to his hometown of Houston, Texas, where he joined and faithfully served his community as a Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service for twelve years, retiring from the USPS in February 2012. Ronald proudly retired from the United States Navy on Jat the rank of GM1 (SW), Gunner’s Mate First Class Petty Officer. Ronald was also recognized as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. Ronald’s Military Awards and Decorations include the Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (w/Three Bronze Stars), Armed Services Medal (w/Two Bronze Stars), Navy Expeditionary Medal, Navy Defense Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Expert Rifle Medal, and the Expert Pistol Medal. Throughout his 20 years of Active Duty service, Ronald proudly served under the following commands the USS Blandy (DD-943), USS Barnstable County (LST-1197), USS Emory S Land (AS-39), USS Gunston Hall (LSD-44) and Beachmasters Unit Two, all in Norfolk, VA. Ronald joined the United States Navy on Jand began his career at the Recruit Training Command (RTC) in San Diego, California. Soon after graduating High School, Ronald made the decision to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. Ronald was educated through the Houston Independent School District (HISD) and graduated from Lamar High School in 1980. Ronald accepted Christ at an early age, as the family attended The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Ronald lived in Waco, Texas until his family moved to Houston, Texas at the age of 11. Serenity leaves behind her mother, Kendra Flores, father, Jayshon Dedrick, her siblings Essence Fleeks, Ariana Jones, and Jayden Jones, her nieces, Heaven Johnson and A’manie Johnson, her grandmother, Christy Flores, grandfather, Joe Flores, and great grandmother, Vicky Guinn. Anyone lucky enough to know Serenity loved her and will forever cherish the memories held in our heart. She enjoyed playing video games with her brother, Jayden and crawling in bed with her Grandma and Grandpa. Most importantly, Serenity had a deep love for her family. She was the life of every party and knew how to make everyone laugh. Serenity loved being around her family and friends. She loved playing volleyball and spending time outdoors. ![]() Serenity loved dancing and doing TikToks, listening to music, and hanging out with her friends. Even though Serenity was taken from us before her time, she lived her life to the fullest every single day. Serenity was born on March 15, 2008, in Amarillo, Texas.
